William F. Heath, 88, of Ganoungtown Road, Port Crane, passed away peacefully Friday, September 14, 2012, at his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Frances (Ganoung) Heath; brothers, Arthur, Earl, LaFord and Kenneth; and sister, Jean Farnham. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Yvette Heath; daughters, Tina (Douglas) Bernard and Marie (Donald) Sbarra; sons, Dana and Mark Heath; grandchildren, Jason (Stacy) Sbarra, Eric (Colette) Heath, Matthew (Jamie) Bernard, and Sarah Heath; great-grandchildren, Johnathan & Julianne Sbarra, Cadence & Camden Heath, Isla Bernard and Keenan Liciandrello; sisters, Beatrice Rounds, Genevieve Thurber and Anna Riecke; sisters and brothers-in-law, George and Marie Martin, and Nova and Emily Martin; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. "Bill" was a dedicated and hard-working employee of the Singer Link Corp, retiring after 34 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Most notably, he was a gentle and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved fishing, gardening, walking the beach, and simply enjoying the outdoors. A funeral mass will be conducted Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1031 Chenango Street in Hillcrest. Those wishing to call on the family may do so beginning at 9 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Port Crane Cemetery.
