William D. Hanson, 84, of Binghamton New York passed away peacefully Saturday September 15, 2012. He was born May 21, 1928 in Grand Rapids Michigan. He was predeceased by his brother Robert and his brother-in-law Roderick MacLean. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Phyllis and his sisters Althea MacLean and Faith (Robert) Hall. He is survived by his children Thomas (Katherine), Dean (Donna), Judith Hancock, Bruce (Sherry) and grandchildren Adam, Ben, Matt, Amelia, Jesse, Scott, Chris, Dan, Andy, Tommy, Corey and Christy. Bill was a US Marine Corps veteran and graduate of Colorado College. He had a successful career as an engineer and manager and retired from Link Flight Simulation in 1989. He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Endwell and a longtime volunteer for Mended Hearts and United Way. He devoted his life to his family and loved the many summers they spent gathered together at the St. Lawrence River. A private burial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
