Wilbur H. Day, 93, of Greene, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. He was predeceased by his wives, Gloria and Eva and by a daughter, Margaret Louise. He is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Shaffer; five sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Kyung Ae, Thomas and Lois, John and Linda, William and Tina and Richard and Patricia Day; 16 grand children; 11 great grandchildren. Wilbur graduated from Worcester Poly-Technic Institute in 1942. He was proud to have attended his 70th class reunion. During the war he worked for an avaiation company, Curtis-Wright. He retired from Singer-Link after many years of service. He was a member of A.I.A.A. engineering society for seventy years and loved to collect stamps and coins. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Afton. He enjoyed visiting Senior Centers in Greene, Coventry and Quarryville, Pa. He was an avid, lifelong RED SOX FAN! Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday at Root Funeral Home, with Rev. Chris Prezorski, Pastor of his church officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Coventry.
