"Chief" George T. Southworth Jr., 70, of Liberty Township, PA entered into rest on July 12, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Janice. Chief is also survived by two children, Dianna and Rick Vaccarella and George "Judd" and Diane Southworth III; his parents, George and Betty Southworth Sr.; six grandchildren, Patrick, Rainey, Allison, George, Ben, and Maria; a sister, Donna Tillier; two brothers, Gary and Chris Southworth and Glenn and Susan Southworth; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Alfred Tillier. Chief served and retired from the United States Navy, after 22 years of service. He was then employed with Singer Link and retired from Lockheed Martin in 2010. He served as the Constable for Liberty Township for five years. Chief enjoyed farming, riding motorcycles, fishing, and country life. Liberty Township was home. He made a point to help anyone in the community who needed his assistance. Chief was an excellent husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. The funeral service will be held in Rhode Island at the Iannotti Funeral Home, Coventry, RI. Interment will be made in the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to either the American Legion Post #357, P.O. Box 429, Hallstead, PA 18822 or the Montrose Minute Men, 55 Grow Avenue, Montrose, PA 18801.
