Stephen A. C. Smith, 76, died October 14, 2012 in Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton, NY. Born in Geneva, NY, he was the son of the late Ralph C. and Monna Z. Smith. Stephen graduated from Binghamton Central High School in 1953, and Lafayette College, Easton, PA, in 1957 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by the U.S. Federal Government, Defense Contractor Administration Services Office, as a Quality Assurance Engineering Consultant. Assignments included positions at several defense contractors, including IBM, Link/Singer, and General Electric. Stephen was an avid reader and model train collector/conductor/engineer. He enjoyed traveling to locations and events related to his interest in railroads. He will be remembered as a man with many interests as well as a dry sense of humor. Stephen is survived by four cousins, Roxanne Connelly, Hallstead, PA; Robert (Susan) Heed, South Montrose, PA; Nancy (Robert) Webb, Indian Trail, NC; and Carol (Jerry) Ely, Montrose, PA. He was predeceased in death by a half brother and sister-in-law, Ralph C. and Esther Smith; and a cousin, Elaine Heed. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. A graveside service will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery, Geneva, NY in November
