John Riley, 78, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, August 6, 2011 with his beloved wife of 53 years, Alice and his loving family by his side. Born September 15, 1932 in Liverpool, England, his family came to America on the Queen Mary when John was in his early twenties. John worked at Singer-Link for many years before moving onto Raymond Corporation where he worked his way up the corporate ladder, retiring as Corporate Vice President of Human Resources. A veteran of both the United States Army, serving during the Korean War, and the Royal Air Force of England. John loved having family picnics, gardening, and traveling, especially working at Yellowstone National Park. He loved watching soccer, the NY Giants, auto racing and was an avid Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. fan. John volunteered his time with various local agencies including founding the Hospice unit at Lourdes Hospital. He was a lector at St. John the Evangelist Church and promoted spiritual growth and positive thinking. His British accent and dry sense of humor will be greatly missed. The family deeply appreciates all of the kindness and excellent care received by Dr. Talati and the Wound Care Center.
