Robert (Bob) W. Pendlebury, 91, of Johnson City, the oldest living Pendlebury, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his beautiful wife, Dorothy "Dot" "DeeDee" Pendlebury; daughter, Barbara Bogart; great granddaughter, Jesse Weir and brother, Larry Pendlebury; and his good buddies, Bill Cherry and George Danko. He is survived by his devoted family; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Penny (Lynn) Pendlebury, Nancy and Donald Chier, Dave Bogart; seven grandchildren, Veronica "Ronnie" Chier and Jason Cupelo, Valerie and BJ Carnegie, Donnie Chier, Ann Marie, Candice and Kimberly Bogart, David and Stacey Bogart; eight great grandchildren, who were the lights of his life, Ashleigh, Ryan and Jake Weir, Ryan and Madison Bogart, Liam, Mattigan and Maisey Carnegie; sisters-in-law, Jean Pendlebury, Betty Cooper, Barbara Jean Townsend, Pat Dwyer, Henrietta Dwyer; and brother-in-law and wife, Bill and Irene Dwyer; many nieces, nephews and extended family, too numerous to mention. Bob proudly served in the Merchant Marine during WWII and retired from Singer-Link. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who was the center of our family. He will be remembered always for his great sense of humor and kind and gentle ways. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 131 Main St., Johnson City with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
