Laurence R. Spicer, 82, passed away at home after a brief illness on Monday, March 8, 2010. Laurence was predeceased by his wife, Blanche Spicer in 2002. He is survived by his loving family, Sally Spicer (William Holbert), Russell Spicer, Leslie Spicer Sr. and his wife, Linda Briggs; step children, Clayton Trottier of MA, June and Norm Savage of AZ, Myrtle and Roy Lassiter of CO, Tom and Shelly Hall; grandchildren, Leslie and Francine Jr.; step grandchildren, Renee, Billy, Bobby, Mike, David, Debbie, Penny and Chrissy, Brian and Tom; great-grandchildren, Josh and Justin; brother, Duane and Carol Spicer of FL; cousin, Harlan and Gertrude Young; several nieces and nephews; the Root Family; many friends which were extended family that called him Dad; and the hunting club; also K-9 companion, Queenie and feline companions, Yogi and Casper. Laurence was a retiree of Singer-Link and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, he was a member of American Legion, Lloyd B. Phelps Post # 571, and the Windsor VFW, member of the 40 & 8 Club, as well as the Windsor Grange.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Ouaquaga Methodist Church on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 12 Noon, with Rev. Sue Sheilds officiating. Interment will be in Knox Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
