Joseph A. Russin passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, May 19th, at his home. We know he is now at peace with the Lord but the void he leaves for his family and friends is immense. He is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Julia Russin, his five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his two daughters Kim LoBue (Joseph) and Diane O'Hora (James). Grandsons Eric and Matthew Ferris, granddaughter Vicki LoBue, great-grandsons Daniel and Max Ferris, and numerous nieces and nephews of whom he thought the world and with whom he enjoyed spending time. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, serving as a basic Airman with the 303rd Bomb Wing in the U.S. Air Force. He spent the majority of his working career with Singer-Link Corporation (1954-1990) in Binghamton. He took great pride in the work he did as a Quality Control Technician. Joe, Uncle Joe, Dad, Joe Dad, Watash, all names he was affectionately known by, loved his family and friends and sharing time with them, especially if a card game broke out. He also enjoyed working on his lawn, or helping others with theirs, and going for long walks. In his later years, he enjoyed his front porch rocker, listening to Yankee games, chatting with passer-byes, neighbors and family. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, May 27th, at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton. The Very Rev.
